Q. What is the difference between plant oils and essential oils?
A. Plant oils: extracted from seeds, bean, grains, fruits or nuts. They tend to be rich in essential fatty acids; substances that play a vital role in helping our skin maintain an effective barrier against the environment. They make excellent moisturizers.
Examples: oils of avocado, coconut, olive, almond, safflower, and maze.
Essential Oils: extracted from flowers, fruits, trees, and herbs. Essential oils are natural substances believed to have medicinal properties. The aromas of essential oils are highly fragrant and believed to have therapeutic properties. For example- lavender essential oil is known to calm the body and citrus essential oil is known to invigorate the body.

Q. How do essential oils work?
A. The dynamics of essential oils are based on a science called aromatherapy where aromas can directly affect the nervous system as molecules are absorbed into the bloodstream through the mucous membrane of the nose. In aromatherapy, every oil has a purpose- ylang ylang, which is arousing, and chamomile, which is soothing.

Q. What are the benefits of plant oils?
A. Plant oils make excellent moisturizers. Some encourage healthy cell growth and others contain vitamin E, which can help speed the healing of cuts or minimize scarring.

Q.
What’s so special about Shea Butter?
A. Many of our products are formulated with Shea Butter. It comes from the karate tree found along the African Savannah region. This wild tree produces a yellow-white butter used for thousands of years to alleviate maladies of the skin and scalp. Shea butter penetrates the skin and leaves it feeling soft. It is extremely therapeutic, soothes aged skin, heals cracked skin, and helps reduce the appearance of stretch marks, and protects against the skin. It’s rich in vitamins A and E.

Q. Do your products contain mineral oils or petroleum (Vaseline)?
A. Excessive use of mineral oils and petroleum has been known to clog hair follicles. As an alternative, we use a variety of plant oils that are known to easily absorb into the skin.

Q. Why do many of the products contain vegetable fats such as coconut oil, shea butter or cocoa butter?
A. They soften the skin and prevent it from drying by creating a covering that traps moisture.

Q. What are the guidelines for proper storage of products?(56,168,170)
A. We use the finest ingredients, sourced from all over the world. To extend the shelf life of our products, we use a small percentage of preservatives; however, we recommend storing products like face creams, milks, and body butters in a cool environment or refrigerator. Avoid extreme temperature conditions.

Q. What is the typical product Life Span?
A. The average life span for our products range from 3-6 months. We recommend closing the lids of containers after product use and keeping lids tight on jars to help decrease the potential introduction of bacteria into the product. If possible, its better to dispense creams and products from jars with spatulas instead of using fingers.
